The Senate Judiciary Committee has voted to approve Sonia Sotomayor as Supreme Court justice. This clears the path for Sotomayor's historic confirmation as the Court's first Hispanic justice.Sotomayor (known around the GOP as "the wise Latina") was told early on that “You'll have lots of 'splainin' to do". For days on end she fielded a series of ludicrous questions. However, she managed to keep it classy and withstood a line of questioning in which she was asked everything short of reciting the lyrics to "America" from West Side Story.
