... and then Romney retorted, "utilizing a military that can use horses and bayonets gives us the opportunity to cut defense, and spend that money growing the economy back here, at home, thereby limiting the number of jobs going to China. I can create jobs, I know how."
"we have to make sure arms don't get into the wrong hands," "we want a peaceful planet," "we need to stand by our principles," "we need strong allies," "we need a comprehensive strategy to move the world away from terrorism." Romney/Ryan 2012
Please keep it up, and don't forget binders and big bird too. This higher order of thinking will lead President Obama right back to the private sector where he belongs.
As long as Romney is allowed to be in attack mode, rude, rolling over the moderator and zinging prepared zingers(see debate #1), he's alpha male and winning...
The President rises to (or some would say lower himself) to Romney's level, stopping Romney from rolling over the moderator and forcing him to respect the rules of the debate, or come to Obama (see debate #2), and then you say how dare he be rude and aggressive.
The President keeps moving FORWARD and makes it clear the areas where Romney is dead wrong, simplifying it to the level where Romney's pandering is evident and now the President is belittling the office of the President?
How unfortunate that running for the highest office in the land has been deduced to what we currently see. The GOP has single handedly lowered the office of the Presidency by putting forward candidates that are not fit for consideration.
I also had a hard time watching our President having to fight when it was obvious he didn't want to lower himself to Romney's level but had no choice but to put him in his place. God help us if Romney wins.
What you all seem to forget is that the last election and the upcoming one aren't the only elections in which black people voted. Obviously, they have always voted for a white man and that white man was most likely a Democrat in recent elections, so their voting habits haven't changed all that much. These two elections were the first time we ever had an opportunity to vote for a black president. When it becomes "old hat" to have such a choice, maybe different results can be expected. Also, do you think that it is guaranteed that black people would have voted in droves for a black Republican president--who knows? Party loyalty is a factor, too.
Love it, Emerge! Today, I voted for the President. He inherited the biggest mess and has tried repeatedly to get the economy going with no help from Peoria's "Golden Boy" and his fellow representatives in Congress. It was planned on day one of Obama's term that the Republicans would do everything in their power to block everything. I hope the American people realize how far we've come despite Aaron's crew.
How is it that a person of mixed race and raised by whites is considered "black"? Culture? Convenience? Might as well be a Steve Martin movie in reverse. Good intentions and cluelessness doesn't equal capable.
He is considered mixed because that is the way whites wanted it--anyone with any black "blood" is/was considered to be black. It's time that changed, but who is to change it--those who demanded it in the first place or those who are "mixed." I couldn't help but notice (might be the fault of my TV) how close in color Romney and Obama are. We really have made a mess of the color prejudice--makes absolutely no sense. It's just one of the many evil byproducts of slavery that we can't get past.
Colin Powell was quite profound when speaking about why he is supporting Barack Obama. He says it is not because of his color, but because he ended one war (Republican initiated) and is closing another (same Republican President), and the President's handling of the economy (walked into a mess left over by Bush).
I totally agree. I am not voting for him because he is black, white, green, blue or a mix of any of those. He can proudly stand on his performance.
In your piece; A Party Full of Racists, I realize that you are not allowing anyone to debate you. I realize that this is your blog and you can say anything you want, but it doesn't make it TRUE. You should know that the South(prior to Civil War) was where all the slaves and slave owners lived. BTW, you are also aware that the majority of the southern states are democratic too. I believe that you are without a doubt, barking up the wrong tree Emerge. Talk about NAME CALLING and race baiting. You want to stir the pot but you don't want it stirred back at you. I won't be following your blog anymore. YOU are the racist. Just because I refuse to vote for Obama, (hope and change) does not make me a racist, it makes me a REALIST. He could not do the job in 4 years, what makes you think he can do it in 8? This is not on-the-job training. If he is responsible for "killing Bin Laden", then he is also responsible for the killing of 4 Americans in Bengazi.
Again, if you believe anything from MSNBC, you would vote for Obama. I do not believe that I had to stoop to your level of Black by birth...why did you? That remark was racist.
Republican By Birth...FYI, the gentleman who made the comment, Col. Wilkerson, is a Republican. His comment was:
"My party, unfortunately, is the bastion of those people -- not all of them, but most of them -- who are still basing their positions on race. Let me just be candid: My party is full of racists, and the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as commander-in-chief and president, and everything to do with the color of his skin, and that's despicable."
Those of us who have been blogging via Emerge's blog for some time, understand that the last thing Emerge is...is a racist. She does not need anybody to defend her, but your vile message offended many of us here.
I have already voted, for President Obama because Mitt Romney would truly need "on the job" training. Obama can stand on getting the US out of 2 wars and settling the US economy after Bush's debacle, all Republican messes.
Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one....even wilkerson. He has NO RIGHT speaking for all Repu.hn licans. MSNBC equal liberal biased media and everyone KNOWS that. That is fact, not opinion.
Anon @ 7:57 - No, that is opinion not fact albeit probably correct in general. Additionally, Col. Wilkerson never said he was speaking for anyone else...perhaps a rereading of his comments by you (assuming that you have read them once already) might be in order. Obviously he was giving his opinion.

FORWARD
This statement really shined a light on how clueless Romney really is. Glad these debates are over, they were painful to watch and so totally useless.
I also had a hard time watching our President having to fight when it was obvious he didn't want to lower himself to Romney's level but had no choice but to put him in his place. God help us if Romney wins.
It's not just President Obama's incessantly sophomoric behavior, but his supporters too. You are a great case in point. I really hope you keep it up.
What's really sophomoric is sour grapes. You are THE case in point.
Last night I realized the real Mitt Romney is McCain/Palin all rolled into one.
But without McCain's military record and Palin's amusement value.
Romney is GW Bush without charm.
I'm just thankful our President was raised by a white women. It HAS to be where he aquired all that anger and hostility
FORWARD....into Oblivion.
Vonster: You got that right!
Emerge: There you go again.
People really need to ask themselves, "Am I voting for Obama because he is black" (actually half white)?
People really need to ask themselves, "Am I voting for Romney because he is white?
People just need to vote--we all know for whom we are voting.
But why?

Mixed? Black White. It's better than being Orange like Trump.
or obese like the picture above
Picture is outdated Lost 50 lbs What's your excuse?
Got to love gutless, spineless anons who comment behind a keyboard. Probably sitting naked in a dark room listening to Nazi marching music.

Dear REPUBLICAN BY BIRTH...
The post to which you are referring is re-posted from MSNBC.
Thank you for your patronage.

I thought that your remark was racist. So there.

MSNBC is no worse than Fox News. In fact, Fox News is worse.
