I was a teacher for 25 years with the district. i planned on subbing once in a while. I have had a few times that have been great, but the norm is subbing for a classroom of students that are out of control. I feel sorry for those students that are trying to do the right thing. My name might be on the sub resignation list next. It is not worth the grief for the paltry pay. I have also subbed for teachers that have left wonderful lesson plans and activities and on the other hand, plans that left me searching for things to do.
I have seen no proof that all of those resignations were subs. And, as Sharon said, it is still a big sign of trouble in the district if 38 employees are unhappy enough to resign. Subs have a lot more options than teachers and to completely resign as a sub is a big thing. You get to pick and choose and can avoid some schools. It is obvious which schools get avoided when you log in and look at the available jobs. Manual, RMS, Trewyn, Day Treatment, and Glen Oak are constant postings.
When these classes do not get subs, some schools pull their encore teachers to sub resulting in no preps for the teachers. OR the class which has no teacher gets split up into the other grade level classes. Which of these would you like to have happen to you at you begin your day? No prep or an extra 5-8 kids in your room? The lack of subs at some of our 150 schools is a major problem and affects more than just the kids in that class.

I recognize one name--Randy Sleeth--as a retiree, so maybe he had been a sub. Otherwise, I don't know how to account for the resignations.
Torri Pringle was a sub also.

Nice headline. Of course, all resignations are for subs.
Kinda like Romney saying his plan covers pre-existing conditions....until you look closer...
The fact that are subs is equally as troubling. What are the alternatives if no one wants to sub in District 150?

No proof? Can't you read the HR report - or do you just not believe it?
The proof is it is under the heading of Substitute.
I missed the III Substitues heading. Lol proof has been seen.
